TGI Red Friday Kitties,

Big Ups to our men in service and our vetrans this Remembrance Day Weekend. To bring the magnitude of their service and sacrifice home, here's a little verse penned by our hometown hero Pte. Ryan Demeurichy while in Kandahar, Afghanistan this October:

Canadians lost so many men, I ask myself how?
The crack of a gun, the Blast of a bomb these seem natural now!
Men work days and countlesss nights
Without any hours of sleep in sight.

We fight for the country that is free
I fight for the country that has made me.
Courage, Respect and honour we live by
We must not have fear to die

The choppers fly over head
Trying to make the Taliban dead.
Gotta keep my head down - gotta stay low,
where a soldier dies a hero lies
While all other run with fear in their eyes.

Be sure this weekend that you give a "shout out" to anyone who fought so that you might enjoy personal and religious freedom, equality andhuman rights and to those who continue to fight so everyone, one day, might do the same.

If you want to send best wishes or some much needed supplies to Ryan specifically, talk to Connie, J-Vid or any of the Sandbar kitties to find out how to get hooked up. This month Ryan is taking some much deserved R&R in Amsterdam before he returns to Afghanistan (hopefully with his "gun freshly waxed", yo!
